use of language as commentary, explanation and word play is taking
central stage. Language as basis for commu- nication is a medium of
high authenticity for him. But also here his examination aims always
again for the actual meaning of the words, sentences and terms.
In his works Bhmler makes a theme in manyfold ways of the manipulation by and in the pictures, the relation of truth and fiction - which is clearly pointed out - the relation between picture and world, as well as of original and copy: in writing, speaking, acting, drawing and constructing. The drawings, installations, objects show things as they really are or as they could be seen beyond their common use.
